A reference guide to the sights worth seeing in Ubud, what each one is and why it's worth your time.

Ubud is Bali's cultural and craft centre, set among river gorges and rice terraces in the island's uplands. Its sights are a walkable mix of temples, palaces and green landscapes, from the Sacred Monkey Forest and the royal palace to the Campuhan Ridge Walk and the sculpted terraces at Tegallalang. A short drive north reaches the spring-fed water temple at Tirta Empul. Most visitors pair a day on foot in town with a half-day loop through the surrounding villages.
