Bali Frontier exists to answer one question well: how do you make the most of a trip to Bali without getting lost in noise or sold a package you did not want? We cover the clifftop and water temples, the terraced rice fields and the volcanoes, the surf and swimming beaches and the offshore Nusa islands, the sights, the logistics and the experiences that earn their place.

How we research

Every page is built from official heritage and tourism sources, operator listings and traveller reviews, then written up in plain British English. We do not invent first-hand stories or claim to have stayed somewhere we have not.

How we stay honest

We earn a commission when you book a tour or a hotel through some of our links. It costs you nothing extra and it keeps the guides free and independent. When we point to a tour, it is because it fits the trip we are describing.

Part of a network

Bali Frontier is one of the Frontier travel guides, a small family of independent destination sites. Different country, same approach: research first, sell never, and keep the practical details current.

For the funding detail, see our affiliate disclosure; for the standards behind every page, our editorial guidelines. You can also explore the wider network.

Who's behind it

Bali Frontier is put together by a small editorial team rather than a single named correspondent, and we publish under the team's name rather than inventing individual personas. We are a research-and-edit operation: we work from official tourism bodies, heritage-site listings, transport operators and traveller reviews, and we are open about not having visited every place in person. How we research, fact-check and fund the guides is set out in full in our editorial guidelines.
