What the booking links do
The links that hand you off to book something carry a tag naming Bali Frontier as the referrer. Book, and the company pays us a share of what it earned on that sale. The tag has no other job. It does not follow you around the web for us, and the page you are reading is written the same whether you use it or not.
Who pays us
- Viator, part of Tripadvisor, for the bookable days: Nusa Penida boat trips, Mount Batur sunrise treks, Uluwatu Kecak tickets, rafting and cooking classes, and the airport transfers.
- Agoda for places to stay, which is the accommodation platform most used across Southeast Asia and the one with the deepest coverage of Balinese villas and guesthouses.
We are in no car rental programme, because in Bali the sensible options are a driver for the day or a scooter hired on the street, and neither pays anybody a commission. No villa, operator, driver or tourism board pays us directly.
Your price
Identical. The commission is taken from the platform's own margin after the sale. There is no fee for using our links and no better rate available by avoiding them.
What commission cannot buy here
- Position. Tour lists are ordered on review volume from the Viator feed, so a trip with several thousand reviews sits above a new listing whatever the rate on either.
- A softer verdict. Where an attraction is a queue for one photograph, or where a widely sold day trip spends most of itself in traffic, the page says so next to the link that pays us.
- Coverage. Temple entry paid at the gate, the free stretches of coast, a warung lunch and the scooter you hire from the guesthouse are all in the guides and none of them earn us anything.
Every fee and fare we quote sits on an internal register with the date it was last checked, so a figure cannot quietly go stale. The rest of the standards are in the editorial guidelines.
Why we spell this out
The FTC in the United States and the ASA and CMA in the United Kingdom require paid relationships to be disclosed plainly, and we agree with the principle. Bali is written about by a great many sites that are paid and do not say so.
About the figures
Prices in Bali move with the season and with the rupiah, so we publish ranges. This is a static site: any number was correct at the last build and is not refreshed as you read. The price and cancellation terms shown by Viator or Agoda when you book are the ones that apply.
Photographs
Tour images are served from the Viator feed. Every other image is credited to its author and licence on the image credits page.
