Private or shared in Nusa Lembongan

Diving here is shared by definition, and the number to compare is the group ceiling: eight on the small operators, up to a hundred on the big day boats. For the road, the island is small enough that a scooter or a short lift covers it, so a private car adds little.

What lands on the bill later

  • The fast boat from Sanur is usually not included. One operator lists it at about 400,000 rupiah.
  • Hotel transfers on the island are excluded from most snorkel trips.
  • Camera and GoPro rental is charged separately by the dive shops.
  • Government and port fees appear on some boat listings as an extra rather than in the headline price.

Our verdict

Lembongan rewards staying rather than visiting. If you have a night here, take the small-boat snorkel trip and the mangrove hour and skip the hundred-seat day boat entirely. If you dive, this is the better base of the two Nusa islands, and the two-day introduction is the honest version of what a one-hour try dive pretends to be.
