What a villa costs in each part of the island, how many Agoda lists, and how that compares with a hotel room.
A villa in Bali is not one price. The typical price, the median, differs from one part of the island to the next.
Across the 10 areas with enough priced villas for a median, on the same dates it ran
from $48 a
night in Kintamani to $166 in Seminyak.
A listing shows what one villa costs. This page shows what villas in each area cost on the
same dates, so there is a benchmark to hold a listing against. This guide counted the
properties Agoda lists as villas or resort villas in the 12 areas it covers
(7,432 of them), placed each one
in the area it sits in, and asked Agoda for each one’s rate on the same dates.
Of those, 2,158 had a
rate on those dates; the rest returned no rate.
The result is a median per area, with the middle half of prices beside it so the spread is
visible. The medians describe villas that had a rate on those dates, not every villa. Every
figure is for 24 to 27 October 2026, 3 nights, 2 adults, checked on 14 September 2026, in US dollars.

Villa prices by area
Ordered by distance from the airport, the same order as the
where to stay in Bali guide.
The dollar signs place each area against the island as a whole: one sign is the cheapest
third of villa prices, three is the dearest third.
Prices are Agoda’s nightly rate for 24 to 27 October 2026, 3 nights, 2 adults, checked on 14 September 2026. A median needs at least 15 priced villas
in an area; below that the table says so rather than print a number. The count is the
properties Agoda lists as villas or resort villas, not every villa on the island, and a median mixes
one-bedroom and larger villas, so read it as where prices sit, not as the price of any villa.
Agoda’s own search can filter to its villa type and a price range. It searches the
whole island, not one area, so use it to see the $, $$ or $$$ band for
yourself: under $93 a night, $93 to $173 a night, or over $173 a night.
Villa or hotel?
Both medians below are the nightly rate for two adults on the same dates. A hotel here is a

Before reading the two figures side by side, check whether a villa rate is for the whole villa
or for one bedroom in it; a hotel rate is for a room. A couple compares the villa rate against
one hotel room. Two couples or a family compare it against two hotel rooms.
A villa can give what a hotel room does not: a pool not shared with other guests, a kitchen,
more than one bedroom. Check the listing for each of them, since resort villas can share a pool,
and for staff, meals, and who to call if something goes wrong during the stay.

Where it is, on the map. Open the location before paying and
check the walk to what the trip is for, whether that is the beach, the restaurants or nothing at all.
How you will get around. Check how you would reach the beach,
food and the airport from the villa: on foot, by scooter, with a driver or by app. The

Bali villas: common questions
How much does it cost to rent a villa in Bali?+
The typical price differs by area, and prices inside one area can spread widely. For 24 to 27 October 2026, 3 nights, 2 adults, checked on 14 September 2026, the median nightly rate across the 12 areas this guide covers was $125, counting the villas that had a rate on those dates. The middle half of those rates ran from $80 to $208. Across the 10 areas with enough priced villas for a median, the lowest was Kintamani at $48 a night and the highest was Seminyak at $166. A median mixes one-bedroom and larger villas, so check the bedroom count of any listing before comparing it.
Why choose a villa for a family trip to Bali?+
A villa can give a family more room than a hotel: more than one bedroom, a kitchen and a pool that is not shared with other guests. Treat those as reasons to look and check each one in the listing, since resort villas can share a pool. Confirm whether the rate is for the whole villa or for one bedroom in it, and count the bedrooms. If there is a private pool, ask the host whether it is fenced or can be covered. Check what the kitchen has, and compare the villa rate against two hotel rooms in the same area.
How do you rent a villa in Bali?+
Start with the table on this page: pick the area that suits the trip and note its median and middle half. Then search that area on a booking platform for your own dates and compare each villa against the area median, keeping in mind that the median mixes small and large villas. Before paying, open the listing and check whether the rate is for the whole villa or one bedroom, what it covers, such as staff, cleaning, breakfast, tax and service, and where it sits on the map. Then book and pay through the platform.
