Amed and Jemeluk
Snorkelling and dive base
The Amed and Jemeluk end is the busiest part of the coast, with the best concentration of dive shops, warungs and guesthouses along a curving black-sand bay. Jemeluk Bay has a coral garden and an underwater temple statue reachable from the shore, making it a popular snorkelling and shore-diving spot. The traditional fishing boats, or jukung, line the beach and still go out at dawn. It is the most convenient base for services, though still very quiet by the standards of southern Bali.
