Canggu spreads along a run of surf beaches and rice fields on Bali's south-west coast, popular with surfers and remote workers. The dark-sand beach at Batu Bolong sits below its clifftop temple, and the rice fields inland give the area its green backdrop. The much-photographed sea temple of Tanah Lot lies a short drive up the coast. Days here revolve around the surf, the cafes and a sunset at the water.
