Munduk is a cool mountain village in Bali's central highlands, set among coffee and clove plantations above the twin lakes of Buyan and Tamblingan. Waterfalls thread the forest around the village, from Munduk Falls to the tiered pools at Banyumala, and the hilltop swings at Wanagiri look out over the lakes. The lakeside temple of Ulun Danu Beratan, one of Bali's most recognisable, lies a short drive away. The uplands reward walkers and anyone after cooler air and quiet.
